"A paraphilia is a condition in which a
person's sexual arousal and gratification depend on or is enhanced by
a fantasy theme of an unusual sexual experience that becomes the principal or
side focus of sexual behaviour." Masters & Johnson’s definition extended by Lemmer (italic, underlined). A paraphilia
can revolve around a particular sex object (underwear, animals, shoes
etc) or a particular sexual act (inflicting pain, etc).
