2. Master of Sexology (9 modules) - via BS = R 2600 per module plus prescribed books per module.
3. Master of Sexology (12 modules) - only for professionals with a related B-degree = R 2600 per module plus prescribed books per module.
4. Doctor of Sexology (Doctoral Exam and / or Doctoral Thesis)

                 a) Doctoral Exam = Between R 12 000 and R 15 000 in total plus prescribed books

                 b) Doctoral Thesis = R 18 000 in total plus prescribed books

Assignment(s) / examination(s) per module.

Application for registration as a student at the Academy for Sexology

Steps:

  1. All new students need to send their CV to the Academy either by email

  1. Your CV must include: Full names, residential, postal & email address, all telephone numbers, identification or passport number, all qualifications (certified copies attached), academic history, work history, a personal profile (in your own words) and a letter of personal motivation why you want to study sexology.
  2. Please remember to name the specific course that you want to study:

a) Bachelor of Sexology (9 modules)
b) Master of Sexology (9 modules) - via BS
c) Master of Sexology (12 modules) - only for professionals with a related B-degree
d) Doctor of Sexology

  1. Wait until you have received your reference number as indication of approval. We do answer all correspondence within ten days. If you do not receive any reply, we most probably did not have received your application. Only if all other communication fails, then call 0837715588 (+27 837715588)

Selection criteria

1.  MASTER OF SEXOLOGY (MS)

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING  a) or b)

 

a) BS (Bachelor of Sexology)

Applicants in possession of a BS will receive anything from 0 to 180 credits from a selection committee in order to avoid duplication in the curriculum.

b) Other:
Related qualifications (level 6 or 7 and above) in the fields of sexology, medicine, psychology, social work, nursing and counseling.

2. We enroll only a few postgraduate students with - high academic potential - sincere commitment to sexology – a professional, caring and mature personality.

8.5  Paraphilia

8.5.1      Definition

"A paraphilia is a condition in which a person's sexual arousal and gratification depend on or is enhanced by a fantasy theme of an unusual sexual experience that becomes the principal or side focus of sexual behaviour." Masters & Johnson’s definition extended by Lemmer (italic, underlined). A paraphilia can revolve around a particular sex object (underwear, animals, shoes etc) or a particular sexual act (inflicting pain, etc).

Group therapy and biomedical approaches in treating sexual dysfunctions, disorders and deviancy in juvenile offenders. Child-on-child therapy models required as opposed to treatments developed for adult offenders.
